What is Tibetan Cranial?
Tibetan cranial is a form of bodywork that originated in the Himalayan highlands about 3000 years ago. It was a sacred knowledge practiced by Tibetan monks. Tibetan Cranial (TC) is a unique combination of cranial manipulation, prayer, and intuition of mind, body, and spirit.
What happens in a TC session?
During a TC session the client lays fully clothed on a special TC massage table. The practitioner feels pulses at the feet and wrists and then goes to the head of the table. The practitioner kneels at the head of the table and feels the cranial pulses. From this information, specific adjustments are made to the skull, face, mouth, jaw and neck. As a result, the whole body instinctively relaxes. The spine will realign with the rest of the body without any specific spinal adjustments. The session ends with a “seal” followed by a period of time of quiet relaxation. During the entire session the practitioner holds an internal sacred space of prayer or manta.
What can I expect after a treatment?
Results after a treatment can be immediate or may occur weeks after a treatment. The body reorganizes and releases previously held patterns. Most people experience a profound sense of well being and relaxation. A reduction of pain or an increase in overall functioning may occur. The results of one session can continue long after it has been completed. Depending on the person’s condition, multiple sessions are usually recommended to fully integrate subtle alignment of the body.

An Endangered Species
To assure the preservation and purity of this remarkable modality, Shar Lee, Master of TC and the lineage holder in the west has formed the Tibetan Cranial Association. Tibetan Cranial nearly became extinct during the Chinese Invasion of Tibet, and we are now dedicated to ensuring this incredible work is passed on to future generations.
